- FAIR has excellent periodic pieces on mainstream media’s distorted Cuba coverage, e.g., “Cuba Under Media Attack for Sending Doctors, Not Bombs, to Help Covid-19 Victims” and “US Campaign Against Cuba’s Medical Brigades Targets Healthcare, Not ‘Forced Labor’”
- The July 11, 2021 protests and the media coverage and reports about them provide a key point for grasping the full scope of US-Cuba relations and the nature of its antagonisms. Our July 2021 post includes a good selection of immediate follow-up pieces. On-going pieces reflect the significance of the occasion and our understanding. A good example of a later analysis appeared in Gramna — “Political Prisoners in Cuba?” (Can those prosecuted for acts of violence and recklessly endangering the public order, with no program, no proposals for positive change, be considered political prisoners?) and was reprinted in Portside.org in February 2022.
